Tanya Owens accepted Christ as her Savior during her sophomore year of college in 1987. In the spring semester of 1988, alongside several other believers, she co-founded the campus-based ministry The Fountain of Faith. Tanya answered the call to ministry early spring 1989, a few months after preaching her first sermon, God’s Got Better Things for You, at a street revival held in the subway station at Times Square, Manhattan, NY.
After completing her Bachelor of Science in Communications, Tanya pursued theological studies at Oral Roberts University School of Theology and Missions, where she earned two seminary degrees: a Master of Arts in Biblical Literature and a Master of Arts in Advanced (Bible) Languages. With a passion for rightly dividing the Word of Truth and a burden to teach and strengthen God’s children and leaders, Tanya pursued ordination at Liberty World Outreach Church in Tulsa, OK. Tanya later continued her academic journey, earning a Master of Science in Instructional Design, Development, and Evaluation from Syracuse University.
